It has never been a bad simulation of football. People can moan all they want about how it’s criminal that PES doesn’t sell as much as FIFA, fine.
And nothing gets me immersed more than FIFA, (despite the complaints about this year’s game). I’ve never been one for Ultimate Team or online, so career is where it is at, and FIFA is the only game that allows me to play as Bristol City. There is nothing more fun to me than playing a career in FIFA as Bristol City, and seeing how far I can take us with eventually getting massive stars playing in our kit. I have not once been able to play as Bristol City in PES. Plus, one reason why I buy FIFA is for the immersion. I never understood the love-in for PES games, as every time I have tried to give them a go they have always felt the same. And the presentation, as always, was completely awful. The game felt too fast and arcadey to me. I played the PES demo and wasn’t massively impressed.
Which is an improvement, I guess, from previous versions. There is a lot more ways in which to attack, which is nice, and because they have made tackling near impossible the AI can score against me now. But when plays come off they feel earned.
